With the experience of four victories in the Sertões International Rally (three among the trucks and one in the cars), the driver Edu Piano stated that he will administrate the advantage that he has over the second place in the category of light trucks. Having made the best time (1h54min09) in this Saturdays stage, Piano is a little over an hour ahead of Rafael Conde/José Papacena.
Yesterday we stayed stopped for 23 minutes in order to help a team companion. If it were not for this, we would have also won the stage. We have an advantage of over an hour to the second place, so now we begin to administrate. We need to get by the marathon stage without any problems, and then, yes, we will go calmly to the end, said the driver who reached 150km/hr in his F-4000.
At the end there was a long high speed stretch. But is was a very complete Special, with lots of dry rivers, erosion, streams and rocks. The navigation was also important. A very pleasant stage, added Piano
Heavy Trucks
Even with a much bigger truck, a Mercedes Artego, the trio Guido Salvini/Flávio Bisi/Fernando Ventania has the Best test time amongst all the class. The finished the stage accumulating 18 minutes advantage over André Azevedo/Sidinei Broering/Ronaldo Pinto, also with and Artego.
Participating for the first time in the Sertões, the navigator, Flávio Bisi was enthused with the scenery in the Brazilian countryside. The scenery is indescribable. Brazil is extremely diversified. As it is his first Sertões International Rally, he had never seen such characteristic beauty and contrast in this region of the country. There are some places that we only get to know through a rally such as this, he states.
