A lot of attention and very little talk. The passage of the Sertões International Rally by Lizarda aroused the curiosity of the inhabitants of the small city in Tocantins
Standing near the fifth stage arrival portico, they looked straight ahead most of the time in order to see the next vehicle on its way. Amongst the inhabitants present, there was a relative of the woman whose name was chosen to baptize the municipality.
Lafaiette Bezerra de Sousa, 52 years old, is the great grandson of Lizarda Maria de Freitas, daughter of José Benedito da Silva, owner of the Boa Sorte farm, where the village was formed that gave origin to the city. He was there with his seven year old son, Moisés Neto, who already likes speed and wants to receive a mini motorbike as a present.
The boy didnt even want to have lunch so as not to miss any of the happenings in front of him. He even complained about his fathers delay at lunch time. When they returned to the portico, the first motorbikes were already parked in the closed park.
I was enthusiastic to see the rally, stated Lafaiette, who is the municipal secretary of agriculture. The event brings income to the city, it is important. He also said that he would give up seeing a Brazilian Selection soccer game on the television in order to see the rallys motorbikes, quads, cars and trucks.
Some of the inhabitants showed they had some knowledge of the competition. One of them even cited the Troller to the reporter.
Lizarda has 3.737 inhabitants, according to the IBGE census of 2008, a per capita income of R$ 4.097,89 and possesses an area of almost 6 thousand square kilometers.
