In four competition days, bike pilots finish the day completely exhausted, and comment how hard was the timed special. Adílson Kilka, bikes race director, says this year’s rally is designed to be difficult from the very beginning, and will demand the best of the competitors.

“Sertões is even better, it’s a hard race, and each year it shows more hardships, it’s more technical. Despite not being so long, the specials are hard. Pilots must be resistant from the very beginning, they must know their bikes and save the equipment in order to reach the finish line”, he went on.

Kilka admits that submitting the pilots to such hard efforts in the first days helps preventing accidents. “I think the specials must be hard, especially in the first days. The pilot faces the hardship in the first day, and lowers their adrenaline. The pilots race hard in the first days and don’t have limits. If the special is difficult, this limit will show up quickly”, said Adílson.

Despite the hardship, the organizer says that more complicated sections may show up.
