Invited by Webventure, Kleber Tinoco, RN 1500 Rally, will make daily comments on Sertões International Rally 2009. Check it out:

Today’s special was really hard, as expected, and due to all the hardship, there were many important changes in results, but the situation begins to become more clear among the favorites…

Bikes
Zé Hélio won another round, and said it is still too early to talk about victory, and it really is, but the routine of this race is showing that it is probable that this is going to happen, unless something extraordinary happens.

Having won the three first stages, Zé has a “relatively safe” 29-minute advantage ahead of Denisio do Nascimento, from Santa Catarina, that had the second best time today, and is in second in the general classification. Nascimento is no fool, rides hard, and has an enormous will to win… The leader can’t hesitate!

Juca Bala arrived in the fourth place and is in the third position, only one minute and seven seconds behind Denisio.

Guto Klaumann and Rodolpho Mattheis, which placed 5th and 6th in today’s section, are in 4th and 5th places in general result.

Important forfeits, like Ike Klaumann’s that had a punctured his bike’s oil case and abandoned the stage, and Tiago Fantozzi that arrived in 13th due to pain in his ankle, and is seeing his chances go away.

Quads
Cristiano Souza won today’s special, and is in first place, 55 ahead of Carlos Colett, 2nd place. With this result, he is practically holding the cup, and he only needs to keep his good result. Rodrigo Varela is in third in his category.

Cars
The Touaregs are keeping the leadership, with a triple victory in today’s stage. Nasser Al Attyah won, and Carlos Sainz was second, leaving a difference of mere 42 seconds for the Spanish pilot. Jean Azevedo ha the fourth best time, with Riamburgo Ximenes in fifth. Once again confirming my expectations, João Franciosi and Felipe Bibas climb positions, and are in 6th and 7th today.

Reinaldo Varela had problems with his car, and so did Romeu Franciosi.

In the general result, Sainz leads, Al Athyah is second. Riamburgo is in third, 01h02m47seg after the leader. Jean Azevedo is fourth, with mere 9 seconds difference, Marcos Baumgart occupies 5th position, 32 minutes behind Jean.
