Jean Azevedos hegemony in Sertões International Rally on bikes is past. The pilot, who now competes in cars, is not anymore the only one who ever won five titles of the largest off-road event in Brazil. And all this due to Zé Hélio, who raised the cup for the fifth time this Friday.
And he seems not to be fed up. It will be ten titles, warns the Honda pilot, who finished 2009 edition almost 40 minutes ahead of the second place, Deni do Nascimento. This is what I like most. Besides loving Sertões, he seems to have discovered the formula to be the champion. It was his third victory in a row 2007, 2008 e 2009. The other two were more far apart from one another: 1999 and 2003.
Zé Hélio discovered the charm of bikes at 4, thanks to his aunt. Since then, he summed some broken bones, pins, and varied falls. But, in all those years, the pilot also filled his trophy room, becoming one of the biggest winners in Brazil.
