Present Brazilian champion in 450cc, Cristiano Sousa scored the best time in the Super Prime of the 17th Sertões International Rally. The quad competitor had the best time on the track set in front of Shopping Flamboyant, in Goiânia, with 1min36.

In 2008, Sousa raced very closely with Carlo Collet and Robert Nahas in the category. This year, he will have new contenders: José Demontier, that placed second in the Super Prime, followed by Carlo Collet Junior and Rodrigo Varela, son of the experienced pilot Reinaldo Varela.

“The Super Prime was very good, the audience is always amazing here. The track was very well designed, and I could have a little fun before tomorrow’s start”, said Cristiano right after the Super Prime.

While preparing to rest and face the race that starts from Goiânia to Santa Helena this Wednesday, the pilot reveals that he will have a cautious strategy. “I’ll try and keep my rhythm on the first five days, not so hard, not so slow. I want to be cautious and ride aware. The race will demand lots of navigation, and I do not want to make any mistakes”, said the pilot.
