Straight from Petrolina Dimas Mattos went through delusion and euphoria moments during today special. “I was doing a wonderful special, in sandy soil, something I love, and I was feeling well. Suddenly, in a straight, my bike stopped 50 kilometers before the finish line”, lamented the pilot.

After checking the fuel and not finding any problem, he soon thought about electric failure. He quickly took out the seat and checked every fuse, disassembled the front body, and checked the electrical parts. Nothing. It was 15 minutes of agony. “I was doing so well, is it really done?”, he wondered.

Another concern was the cars coming, because he was in a closed place, and would not be able to move the bike.

Light at the end of the tunnel “I remembered Jean Azevedo’s forfeit in Dakar 2007, when a little on-off wire broke in the rear of the bike”, he told. “I checkd and found the hanging little wire. Took the pliers, peeled the wires, and went on, happy, it was cool”, he said, happy with his solution.

“Rally is all about overcoming problems, and I have done it today. I was happy with myself and for not having put an end to my rally”, he finishes, telling that he will keep the receipt in order to finish the rally.
