Eduardo Sachs, Technical Director of the Sertões International Rally comments on today’s route

Redação Webventure/ Parceiros

Initial liaison: 143 km
Special: 83 km
Final liaison: 9 km
Total covered in the Day: 235 km

In spite of being the first stage, it is a very tough one. The first 10 kilometers are heavy trial, with large stones and erosions. It is a very curvy stretch, including for trucks. But, due to the narrowing of the road, there will be a detour at the start: the trucks will not participate of this trial, not in order to preserve them, but, because the road is too narrow for them.

Right after the start, the route continues with slabs, stones and a type of fine gravel. It is a heavy stretch for all, but, a bit wider than the previous one. Therefore, the trucks can also do this stretch.

The first 40 kilometers are difficult. Curvy, with ups and downs (hills), some streams to cross, longer straights not easier than the initial straights, but, faster where a higher speed can be reached, but, not too fast.

We have always said that the first day is for everyone to get used to the equipment, but, this year we are not going to make things easier. The race will be tough from beginning to end. The final liaison of 9 kilometers will be a highway to Pirenópolis.
