Santa Helena de Goiás receives pilots and their teams in the first day of the Sertões International Rally. The city, that has 1,128 km² (435sq mi) and a population estimated in 35 thousand inhabitants, is one of the largest industrial poles of the state.
Home for plants like Parmalat, the city also hosts an alcohol and sugar mill, and borders wit the cities of Rio Verde, Acreúna e Maurilândia, located southwest of the state and almost 200 km from the capital
Hometown of Goianias Governor, Alcides Rodrigues Filho, the city is commanded by the states first lady, Mayor Raquel Mendes Vieira Rodrigues.
