Straight from Natal (RN) Due to the realization of the soccer World Cup in 2010, the 18th edition of Sertões International Rally will be held in august next year, date to be defined yet. The only comfirmed fact is that the start will be in Goiânia (GO), as in the 8 previous editions. The city of Natal (RN) is still not confirmed for the hosting of the finish line.
Our goal is always to develop and promote the touristic characteristics of the destination cities, and we always try and make a better rally, said Marcos Moraes, Dunas Race CEO, race organizer.
Only in Natal, the estimates of Rio Grande do Norte Company for Tourist Promotion (Emprotur) is that there are around 2,000 people arriving in Natal due to the rally, and this moves local economies. In Goiânia, there are 200 direct jobs, and hundred of indirect jobs related to the event. In the state of Goiás, it is estimated that Sertões has already injected between 12 to 15 million dollars in the economy.
It was really the best rally in the past few years. The route was very good, with a fantastic course. There is no question that Dunas team and the people directly involved in the realization of the event have made an excellent and dedicated job, and this gave the race consistency from the beginning to the end, commented Moraes.
The race Teams came with good structure and the new route had a good level. The result is there to see, and everyone is pleased with what the organization has achieved this year. I hope I can keep the same level next year, and this is my highest challenge, to get this motivation and determination of the team for next year, to make a great event, defined Moraes.
