Palmeirinha on the track (foto: André Chaco)
With a time difference of a little over 2 minutes, today, Paulo Nobre (Palmeirinha) and Filipe Palmeiro (314) beat the champions of the 2010 rally Guilherme Spinelli and Youssef Haddad (301). Their times were 4h56min14 and 4h58min33, respectively.
I guessed that he [Guilherme] would administrate these two days of marathon, so as not to put the test at risk, Palmeirinha said about his opponent, who is in first place in the general ranking. But I was surprised, because he didnt take his foot off the accelerator and was really pushing it ( ). I am also running at this speed, because I have to recover the lost time. But he doesnt. He deserves to be congratulated. We have to know how to praise our adversaries. Giga is a great driver and is driving really well.
Varela gives his version. Truthfully, Palmeirinha is going at a very good rhythm. I AM trying to stay near him, but not force it, said Guilherme at the end of the stage. We managed to finish the marathon with our duty done, which was not to make any mistakes. The car is impeccable: we didnt hit anything and we managed to increase our advantage over the second place in the general ranking, added Giga, referring to Palmeirinha, currently vice-champion.
Completing the days triad of winners, the duo Reinaldo Varela and Eduardo Bampi (302) came in, in 4h58min49, glued to Giga. We drove well, at the same rhythm from beginning to end. A strong start and finish, with the car in perfect order, gave us the confidence to accelerate. We are now going to try to hold our position until the end, Varela declared. They continue in third, also in the general ranking.
