8th stage 08/1
Palmas (TO) to Minaçu (GO)
IL: 312 km TS: 333km FL: 20 km
Total: 666 km
The biggest challenge in this stage begins even before the racers accelerate their vehicles. The long initial liaison demands doubled attention for the motorbikes, as riding on the asphalt begins very early and there is a risk to the competitor of dozing off on the handlebars. The timed stretch begins fast and forthwith gets narrow and winding, afterwards it offers the possibility of high speeds. Before the days end, the vehicles pass by the Serra da Mulher que Grita mountain range and the rhythm drops dramatically with lots of cliffs and sharp curves of up to 180 degrees.
It is the second longest day in the competition. We will have a lovely special, where we will climb to the highest points of the region in terms of the Sertões International Rallys altitudes. The racers will pass over fesh-fesh (soft sand) ground on a day involving a lot of navigation.
